CARROLL SHELBY CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION OFFERS
A LEGEND’S PERSONAL 2007 FORD SHELBY GT500
FOR SECOND ANNUAL RAFFLE
GARDENA, CA (November 2006) – [/b]The Carroll Shelby Children’s FoundationÔ, an organization dedicated to providing assistance for acute coronary and kidney care for young people founded by automotive icon Carroll Shelby, will offer a new 2007 Ford Shelby GT500, the fastest Mustang ever, for its second annual “Win-a-Shelby” raffle. The GT500, painted “vista blue” with white performance stripes and packing a powerful 500 horsepower engine, is titled and owned by race legend Carroll Shelby and will be presented to the lucky raffle winner following the ticket drawing on August 18, 2007.
The GT500 will be on display at numerous automotive events over the next eight months, including Shelby and Ford related events, and Barrett-Jackson Auctions among others. A list of events the CSCF will be attending can be found on its website at www.CSCF.org.
“We are very excited to offer Carroll Shelby’s personal GT500, the fastest Mustang ever, for our second ‘Win-a-Shelby’ raffle,” said Jenni Shreeves, Executive Director of the Carroll Shelby Children’s FoundationÔ. “Thanks to the generosity of Ford Motor Company and Shelby enthusiasts worldwide, we hope to eclipse our fundraising efforts from the first raffle and raise even more aid and awareness for children and their families in need.”
The Carroll Shelby Children’s FoundationÔ hopes to surpass the success of the first “Win-a-Shelby” raffle of Carroll Shelby’s personal aluminum-bodied Shelby Cobra CSX 1000 that raised $485,000, with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation.
Tickets can be obtained through the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation for a charitable donation of $25.00 for a single ticket, or $100.00 for five tickets. Legendary racer and automotive manufacturer Carroll Shelby, following years of heart-related difficulties which culminated in a successful heart transplant, created the Carroll Shelby Children’s FoundationÔ in October 1991. I saw this car at the Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale.
I didn't purchase a ticket because they didn't say how many tickets will be sold. I like to know the odds beforehand. A ticket might make a nice present though... hint hint!
