I haven't washed my car in a long time because it's just impractical this time of year. Number one, it's freezing out. Two, I don't wash my car unless I wax it, and the days are too short even if they are not freezing to get all that done. And if I wash it without waxing it, I'm doing more harm than good, because I'm taking a measure of the protection that is under the dirt off and exposing my finish even more to the elements. And 3, I know darn well if I wash the car, it will snow like crazy for 3 days just because, and then my car will be all messed up again anyway.
