What's up with this ... Increase engine life by 3 to 10 times???
This website: http://www.synlube.com claims to the "FIRST oil you do NOT change" ??
It claims to be far superior to the oils we "normally" use (Mobil-1, Royal Purple, Motorcraft, whatever, etc.), and claims to be used by NASA and JPL, as well as the Russian space agencies in their space crafts. The website has testimonials about cars driven for hundreds of thousands of miles with only one SynLube oil change.
Also "SynLube, Inc. agrees to repair or replace, at its expense, the engine and/or transmission parts listed below, which fail or experience abnormal wear due to the failure of SynLube™ Synthetic Super Lubricant(s) to provide proper lubrication. This warranty lasts for the shorter of: ten years from the date of manufacture of the vehicle, or for 150,000 original miles (242,000 kilometers). "
Any thoughts??

I'm sure if you put mobil 1 in your car and drove it around a track for 200,000 miles it would make it. Driving 200,000 miles on 1 oil change over the course of 10 years is a bit different though.

The only problem with an oil that lasts a million miles is that the filter won't. By the time the filter clogs up and seizes your engine, the fact that the oil is still good for another 900,000 milesis pretty irrelevant.

I fully belive that modern oils can last a LONG time. Even "common" premium oils like Mobil 1 or Red Line, etc, can last 10, 15, or even 20-thousand miles before they break down. BUT, there is no way in heck that your FILTER will last anywhere near that long. That is why I change my oil every 3k: I don't trust the filter to last any longer than that.
