My gas station experience....

RE: My gas station experience....
i was just sayin, that it worked for me and my friend who had the same issue, so thats a double right there, anyone who wants to try it, let me know, it might be easier than readjusting the gas tank, but its up to you all. I'm just pointing out my experience

Sure, man I wasn't trying to dog ya. I just know what causes this thing to slow fill and that the cap has nothing at all to do with it. Not saying a lock cap is a bad thing, hell - it will prevent sabotage. BUT I would put little faith in it resolving the slow fill.

i was gassing up the other day and a state trooper pulled up behind me and started filling up the car. He had the same problem, it wouldnt fill up and kept clicking off. So i walked over and told him to turn it and then it filled up. Must of been a funny picture of the mustang then the statey with me helping him. Wished i had a camera.

That's awesome. I got pulled over one time and the statey broke down. It stalled and wouldn't start back up. I had a can of ether in the car and determined that he wasn't getting any fuel pressure. The pump finally had enough of the 16 hours a day of idling. We had a cool conversation and I stuck around and let him stay warm in my car until another trooper came and got him. When his ride got there he asked "where's that ticket I gave you?" I handed it to him and he just said "Have a nice night. Be careful and quit speeding".
Just like how shyt cops are the biggest jerkoffs on the planet, the cool ones are proportionately so.

The problem you all are having is simular to a friend of mine who has a Mercury Mountaineer. He complained that right after he added some injector cleaner, he couldn't fill his tank up anymore without the fuel nozzle popping off. He said it took him forever to fill his tank. He took it to the dealer and they dropped the tank and put in a new one. The gave him back the vehicle and the same thing happened. He took it back all po'ed. "I'll never buy another Ford" he swore. Then the dealer removed the filler neck and found the paper piece that is found under the cap of the injector cleaner bottle trapped on the anti syphon/fuel containment screen thats in the filler neck. The paper was causing the fuel nozzle to sense a pressure build up just like when the tank is full. It would shut the fuel pump down. They put it back together, and he hasn't had any trouble at all. BTW he loves his Ford product now! Ibelieve the fellow who mentions adjusting the filler neck is on the right track. Thats where the problem lies.
