'07 Shaker 500 low hum when volume low diagnosed
My '07 Shaker 500 has a low hum when the volume is all the way downor just barely up a notch. Any higher, and the music drowns it out. Well my Helm manuals came in today and it was the first thing I used them for to see what was happening.
The hum is coming from the individually amplified sub-woofers in the doors. Both the left and right side share the same dedicated fuse, F16. It's in the Bussed Electrical Center (BEC) that is located under the hood at the front left side (same side as the battery, but up front near the head lights). Pull the fuse, no hum, but no sub woofers either. I think it's just the 500 watt amp that makes the hum and not much that can be done about it. There wasn't enough bass from the remaining speakers for my standard Rock taste, so I put it back in.[/align]
