Default Decided on Shaker Hood scoop

I decided that the Shaker hood scoop would be my first mod. Just a couple of questions from owners or fans:

How much should I expect to pay for install (install components and cut hood)?

Who is best qualified to do install? Body shop? Mechanic? Combo? (I wouldnot attempt myself)

Any related problems or things I should look out for based on your experience or things you have read?

Thanks all.

Man I like the Shaker hood scoop too. Wondering the same thing about cost of install and any problems.

Average price I've seen posted to install is about $1000.00. Body shop would be your best bet as most of the skilled work required is cutting the hood.
I've had my Shaker sitting in the box since Nov.06, as I'm waiting til March before I install mine. Plan on doing the install myself.

$750 for shaker - installed? (not just to install it?) Sounds low...

$1000 for install sounds high - I mean they have the tools, just need to cut a hole in the hood with template. Then the actual Shaker install - I figured about $300 - $400 total to install.

Is this way off? - just for install the bugger.

Unlike the Mach 1 the shaker kit for these cars is purely cosmetic it does not introduce air into the engine. You might as well get a faux hood scoop.

What are you talking about? It's the exact same thing as the mach scoop. Both the mach and the cdc shaker attach at the airbox. So how is that any different?

Jurnymn - so it was really $750 for the scoop AND install? Great deal! (I doubt I could get that...). The Steeda site says it takes about 4 hours for an install so I figure about $300 to install at $75 per hour?

redfireshaker06 - how do you like yours? Any problems or tips?
