Hood Stripes, Do-It -Yourselfers
Hi, I wanted to ask anyone that applied hood stripes themselves how hard it was and any pointers you might have. I've applied side and rear striping myself and pinstripes and I know it's a pain with bubbles. Any help will be appreciated or should I just go to a professioal?

Pain in the Buttocks IMO.............I tried it with my first set, FUBAR'd it all up, was worth every penny of the $150 I paid some guy to do it for me.
However the Rocker Stripes were not all that hard to do.

Yep, total PITA. Be patient, use lots of wetting fluid. Your are fighting compound angles....This was the first time I did stripes. Hood took me about two hours.....

PS. Pinstripes on the hood are a cake walk....now the main center is a different story....

Thanks guys. I always like doing stuff myself but stripes are costly and I might leave it to a professional. I did the side Letters/Fader/Pinstripe andaFader stripe between the tail lights and that was a real pain but it did come out nice. Bubbles are a pain.

I recommend a sign and graphics guy. Dealers here wouldn't touch it. The body shops were lukewarm. I took it to a guy who does vinyl signs, graphics and window tints and he did a great job.
$150 for about 3.5 hours work.
