Default Nitro in tires

I took my 07 GT on its first road trip last week.(Memphis to Green Bay) When I got to Green Bay I took my car in for service for the hood( dancing at 75mph) They told me about adding a mix of 86% nitrogen and 14% oxygen to the tires. I have never heard of that before. They claimed that the car would ride better, mpg would be better and it would not losetire pressurebecause of weather change. I said what the hell go ahead and doit. After driving home 825 miles, they were right. The ride is the biggest difference andmy gas milage went up 2.6mpg. I found one place in Memphis to fill up the tires on our 06 Jeep Commander and my wife said she can tell a ride difference. For $40.00 this was one of my best upgrades yet. Has anyone elsetried this?

Yes I did. Tho I didnt notice such a big difference, I had a nail in my tire and without the nitrogen the air in the tire would have escaped much more rapidly..
What did they do about your hood cause I have the same problem, actually its more at 90mph... they said they couldnt do anything

They adjusted the rubber stops....I noticed that the corner of the pass. side was tight. The corner of the drivers side could be lifted up and inch and a half! I seen it bounce once on the way home but for a 12 hour trip I was pleased. Inow have it in the shop for the classic (wont fill up all the way) BS and my drivers side window will go all the way down and make a big thud noise on occasion. But, cant complain, it is after all......... a ford. lol

I have nitrogen filled tires on my Stang. They are GREAT! I do not loose pressure with themp changes and that will save on milage and and tires. But Belle Tire in the Detroitonly charges $4 per tire, $16 for all four and lifetime pressure checks and top offs FREE. If you buy tires from them they include it in the purchase.

Nitrogen would also prevent rust from forming.

I got new tires from Belle Tire for my Intrepid and they filled them with Nitrogen for free. I felt absolutely nothing different about it. I never checked my mileage so I don't know if it improved or not. I bought them 4/14/06 and my tires pressures have remained constant with never a need for any top-offs.
