1968 gt hardtop

I'm looking for good suppliers of painted outside mirror covers and body side scoops (GT/CS style) formy '07 Torch Red convertible. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

That's a lot of money for a cover. You would be better off taking the mirrors off and gettingthe bopdy shop to paint them when you are getting your scoops painted. He probably won't even charge extra for the mirros if you prep them your self. Removing them is reall easy, just pop the plastic triangular covers on the insde of the car, disconnect the wires and remove the 3 nuts.

All you'll have to do is a little sanding . Mask the mirror itself with paper and tape.

Have you had any issues with bugs/rocks chipping the paint off after you had your mirrors done? I went with the covers because the paint shop told me that I would probably have to come back yearly to have them repainted...

Ya try Ebay plus most Mustang catalogs offer covers. Some anglular & stock shape. Also chrome. Check the web world. Dogpile is a good search engine.

You can buy exact replacement mirrors on line for about $50 each. That way you can prep them and either paint them yourself, or have them sent out. Swap out the original mirros with the painted ones. That way theres no down time on your daily driver, and you can always switch back. Just my two cents worth.

I'm not a paint guy so I'm not sure if this is 100% correct, but my paint guy said the stock mirrors are made out of cheaper plastic which contain a higher oil content.The reason the mirrors aren't painted by Ford is that this plastic is effected by heat which will eventuallyaffect the painted surface. Somemirrorsthat are partially painted use two types of plastic, one of higher grade for the painted portion anda low end grade for the non-painted portion. You can usually tell by the pourous surface which one is used. Maybe there are other paint guys out there to agree/disagree.

I bought the prepainted C-pillar louvers from this same place, they are real, nice I plan on getting the mirror covers as well. Only problem is if he needs to paint them because the color is out of stock you'll have to wait about an extra week.
