Default Tire roar from new setup

Ok, I made a thread yesterday about how I got new rims and tires, well I tested them out today and found I'm getting serious tire roar at freeway speeds (my freeway speeds) 80 and over and appears most apparent when I go up or down eleveation. I'm also getting a sort of shimmy occasionally when driving straight, like the tries are grabbing he road too well and are going with the tread instead of where I'm steering.

This is my setup.

Front
18x9 Gunmetal
weight 26 lbs. /offset 24mm/
backspace 5.95"

265/35/ZR18 97Y XL MB Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Tire PSI 32

Back
18x10" Gunmetal
weight 28 lbs. /offset 22mm/
backspace 6.4"

275/40ZR18 99YRRBL Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Tire PSI 35

I know the offsets on those wheels are made for the 99-04 models but people have used these and said they worked fine on 05/06 models, not to mention the CTR website says so.

On my 06 GT's door sil it says tire PSI should be set to 32 PI all around, though I set the rear wheel PSI to 35 since they can go all the way up to 40. Should I set them to 32 as well?

Also these are not low profile tire but the ride is considerably more rough now now, I know it would become slightly stiffer but not this bad.

1587 is the load rating on the stock 235/55/17 tires at 32 psi
1422 is the load rating on the other 275/40/18 tires at 32 psi
1080 is the load rating on the other 265/35/18 tires at 32 psi

more pressure is required to = the same load capacity as the stockers Alot more for the 265's
the 275's I would run near 40 psi.
265's would also be at max psi.
Theres alot less sidewall here for support.

Also a wider tire will tend to follow th crown of the road more, and the grooves. This is normal

So running them at 32 psi is dangerous? or is it gonna hurt performance. If I run it near peak PSI what will that do to the ride.

This tire is overloaded. Will have an effect on handling, and more prone to impact breaks from pot holes/curbs.
more psi will be a harsher ride, but that goes with the territory.

I sure would like to see some pics on what your ride looks like with the wide wheels. With the larger 18" wheels and the low profile tires, you will geta harsher ride. I would try inflating the tires between 28psi or 30psi, the lower tire pressure might help with smoothing out the ride without compromising safety. The tires on the front are most likely affecting the ride the most with 35% height profile. I would try the lower air pressures on the front first. If this helps just keep a eye on tire wear, if the sides seem to wear more than the center the tire pressure will need to be raised. By lowering the pressure from 2 to 4 PSI should not affect the wear pattern, but keep and eye on it just the same.

if you used wheel spacers that could cause minor vibrations

What about the infamous rotor retainer clips? Did you assure they were removed from the wheel?? This has caused balance issues for some in the past, and would certainly cause a shimmy effect.......

Are you talking about those little blocks in the inner linning of the wheels? I thought those were suppose to be there for weight balance.

I upped the PSI to 38 in all 4 wheels. Turns out the front wheels only had 28 psi, donno wtf those crack heads at discounttire were doing, I told them 32. The ride to work was actually better, the tire roar was reduced somewhat. The shimmy doesn't occur when in straight lines anymore but when I'm changing lanes at highspeed it does occur, like the car is shifting subtly. Its not the tires breaking traction, but more a body movement feel.
