I was told buy the dealer they were for the pasenger restraint system also. To be one of two detection devices for the passenger side.

Well, the ECM saves data before the airbags deploy logging throttle position, rpms, speed, brakes applied or not, etc....and the insurance companies have a right to demand the info from it before they pay a claim, thats no joke.

I honestly thought your response to this thread would be something like,

"The sensors detect whether or not a ***** is driving the car."
