Default Hosed on Motive 4.10 Gear Install

After getting feedback and deciding to save a buck or two ,I decided to buy Motive 4.10's, install kit, and royal purple gear oil from Brenspeed.

I call my localMustangspeed shop (Modular Powerhouse aka MPH - they are reputable) because I do not want the stealer to do the install. MPH tells methat they will install the Motivesbut they will not warranty the work AT ALL because they havetwo bad experiences with those gears.

So now I left with two options:

Have MPH install the motives and roll the dice on unwarrantied work / potential gear whine.

Return the gears to Breenspeed, get nailed on the restock fee, and pay for the FRPP's.

What would you do?

I would return the Motive's and get the FRPP's to be on the safe side.

Return it. I have heard about motive also from reputable places when I was thinking of changing gears. They say they are Italian and noisy. It's not what you want to hear but it's what I hear. Also shops will not warranty work if it isn't their parts. On top of that they may charge you more a hour for the install since they can't make money off of the parts. Believe it or not I had one tell me so.

That's funny! Ford Racing doesn't make anything, they subcontractall their partsout. Currently FRPP gears are made by Motive for the 7.5" rear end, and I bet the it's the same for the 8.8". When you open the FRPP box there's Motive instructions inside. LOL! Probably a good excuse for shops that have had problems with installs, besides they can charge more for the FRPP box.

i dont care how reputable the shop is, run, dont walk away if they refuse to install gears because of a brand, helical cut gears will NOT whine if installed properly
