Default Shaker hood scoop connection

Does the Shaker hood scoop use the stock intake or does it replace it? I've read some conflicting info on this.

Yes, it's designed to use the stock intake and airbox.

However, it can be modified for aftermarket CAI's.

Thanks TacoBill - nice car!

How much would it cost to install it?

Thanks!

I only know of one shop rate (JBA in San Diego) that a buddy had his done at and they charged something like $200 for the install.

I (and other guys) installed it myself. It's really not as bad as you think. Here's an install 'How to' by Mustang Monthly on the CDC Shaker.

And, here's a link to my How-To section over at TMS for other mods you may want to do in the future.

Thanks again - great info. (I'd never attempt it myself though - admire those that can)

Just a question about the shaker - are there any problems with water getting in or pooling? How do they avoid this?

TacoBill,

Can you post a full picture of your Stripes on your GT? I want stripes and was considering black but your white stripes look good.

The Shaker system has an excellent water management. It has 4 drain hoses at the base of the scoop (ea corner on the shroud). If any water makes it into the scoop, chances of it going thru the ductwork all the way to the filter is almost nill. Even if it did, the 'cold air' ducting routes the air before the filter element.

Lots of guys with the Shaker have driven thru torrent rain storms with zero ill effects.

Vinyl stripes are from Baltimore Street Mods. 12" Gloss White.

All my stripe install pics can be seen here.

+1 - agree about the red with white stripes - definitely the way to go. (That shaker doesn't hurt either)

TacoBill - just want to thank you again for the info on water effects. I have made up my mind that I am getting one. I just need to find a reptable/competent person to do the install. Your help is greatly appreciate and high quality. Take care friend.

Dude, do the install yourself. Save the money. As TacoBill said, it really isn't that hard. There are several of us on here that have done it and can offer assistance if needed
