Default Shift stick vibration makes leather rubbing noise!

Okay, so whenever I put the gear in either 1st or 3rd, the vibration from the shift stick would make some leather rubbing noise. I guess the leather around the shift stick is too tight.

Does yours make any such noise? I have the transmission fluid changed today, still didn't make a difference.

I'm talking about the leather that's around the shift stick. When you put it in 1st or 3rd, the vibration makes the leather rubbing each other, and makes some annoying noise. You have to put the auto in mute to hear though.

Does anyone also get this kind of noise?

Yeah I get it occassionally . Hoping that as the leather softens up from use it will go away.

i know exactly the noise your talking about. its like, the leather is sticking to itself and making an annoying noise, or just the whole thing is in a position where it buzses.

Yes, I have this same problem. If i hold the shifter in 1st or 3rd it won't make the noise, but as soon as I let go it squeeks away. Nothing I can't stand tho.

vphokie, your car looks awesome! I love the white/black look. You going with black louvers or scoops? That would look even better

Does yours still make this noise? Since yours is a 05,the leathershould have been softened by now, right?

nope. sometimes, if its cold, or humid, or depending on conditions in general, the leather will do this, but i just jiggle the boot around a litte bit and its gone.

think of it this way: if the conditions are right, and you manipulate the boot correctly, you might be able to get it to make the noise. but its really not a problem at all to fix.

mine never made the noise, and then did it for about 2 days 6 weeks ago, then hasn't done it since.
