Default 2007 mustang v6 and gt pricing

Thanks ahead of time to anyone who can help me with my questions. Ok, there was an ad in my local paper 07 v6 mustangs for $16,995. This ad was true and there turned out to be 30 to choose from. Now im only looking to buy a pretty stripped down mustang and go from there. Well my dad is a car buff and he always dickers bottom dollar on cars. He was able to get a basic v6 strip down for $14,995 just dickering. This is true. And I have a truck which the dealer offered me about $3995 in trade for. So im looking at about the higher $11,000 range with tax and everything. Then theres the gt. Well he had a gt for $25,995 in the lot. A 2007 automatic. Well after negotiating on that we were able to get him down to $20,500 about. Edmunds lists a dealers invoice for $23,700 but they get the cars for $18,000-19,000 according to my cousin whos a mechanic for ford. Anyways with trade im looking at about $18,000 with tax and everything on this gt. Which would be the better buy? I did test drive the gt and its of course far more impressive than the v-6. Also is the v6 0-60 time for 6.9 seconds correct. Thanks for your time.

Hi thanks for the response and I know what you mean about the used ones. The guys got a few extras (basically overordered) and it helps to know the exact price of what he is paying for them. Yeah I think its an amazing deal for a gt. I mean I can't dicker like my dad. He used to own a lot of muscle cars but needed a van. He got a new 2007 town and country for $15,250 from the sticker price of $22,935. And thats without a trade. Thats over $7k off. He basically did the same with the stang. I was very pleased with the price with trade for my truck. The dealer should still make a $1,000 off my truck and $1500 of the car which still gives him pleanty of profit. Its just that the car payments will still be a tad high. Looking at about $300 a month for that gt plus im only 18 and insurance is gonna be about $2400 a year for it and the gas milage is okay. My truck only gets an average of 18mpg anyways. I just love the new gt's. I gotta make the decision quick basically in the next week or so. Hes got about 15-16 gts sitting around and about 30 regular stangs.

i did the same thing and got my gt for 16000, i did some as you would say dickering and got it. You will not regret it due to there is so much more potential for the gt. For example, like im doing. If you put in 10 grand you will now be at sticker price and have a supercharged and many extra gt. If you put more like another 5 grand that would be at around 30 witch is a stock gt with extras and you will have a beast with the same parts as a shelby or sallen or roush for 15 to 35 thousand less. I had the v6 2005 and ended up dissappointed so though its a good price 300 a month is damn good for a gt.

damn, i don't know how you go that low on the price! i used x-plan when i got my 2006 GT and i got it for 29,000 OTD but that was with IUP, shaker 1000, and some other options. i thought that was a steal! then again, i guess it's related to demand...in 2005 and 2006 there was a LOT more demand for these cars then there is now....but still, for that price, i'd buy in a second.

Yeah, I'd jump on that GT. I'm thinking that, if you did get the V6, after a while you might start thinking "I wish I would have got the GT."

+1

Go with the GT if you can get it for that price. Hell, go with it even if you can't.

Some day, when I lock the wife in a closet and visit Ford....

Thanks for your responses everyone. I know the gt is great for that price. I called my cousin and asked him what the true invoices are again and he gave me an approximate number of $17,795-18,295 for the dealers. Plus a delivery charge of about $400 per car. So just like billyjo was talking about how he got his gt for $16000 I am pretty much doing the same. I know I am new but if anyone is going for a new gt take the prices I have above. But if your getting one loaded with the shaker system and all the options basically the $30k+modelsit will be a bit pricier. I was talking about a more stripped downmodel for $25k-27k. So if anyone is going for a strip down model or close find a dealer that has a bit of excess stock and use those numbers above. That isthe area they are getting them for. You should be able to dicker one down to almost $20k with a little time and effort. The only extras I want on that mustang are some stripes. I was thinking of gold stripes if I buy the black one. And I wouldn't mind leather seats. And maybe the shaker system thats about it. The onlyproblem is my mom hates mustangs with a passion because of how much they cost and gas milage but my dad loves the new ones. She always has her neons and hyundais and talks about how great they are. She doesn't even like the new V-6 mustang. Shes the only person I know that just hates mustangs.
