Ok, I checked mine out and have no problems so far, but the car is only offically a year old now (made in March of 06) and I have only owned it since new for 9 months and she is stored and always under a cover in a climate controlled garage. I seems if it is not one thing it is another, but I will never be swayed from owning this car (unless totaled). J
I haven't noticed any imperfections yet. Could it be when cars are kept outside with windows up in heat causing the problem? You said yours is a year old now but kept in a climate controlled garage. I bought my car in Dec. and unfortunately it has to stay outside until we get another garage built this summer. In the mean time, when I park the car I put up window shades to block the sun and help cut down on heat as well as using a car cover.

Those of you with problems, is the car outside most of the time? Do you cover it or use something to shade the interior? Just trying to pinpoint a possible cause.

My car is garaged 100% of the time when it is not being driven. So, I would have to say that it has very little or nothing to do with the problem.

My guess is that the logos are contaminated during the manufacturing process, even before they are clearcoated.

Yep, Mine has done it twice! I just had the 'airbag assembly' replaced again. It's supposedly $900 part. No wonder Ford is / has been losing money.

Let it go, once the whole thing gets covered in it, it actually looks ok

Okay, they replaced it but have they changed anything so this one also won't fade.
Tha's a damn good question - I was wondering that myself. Otherwise, this will be a recurring issue and after the warranty expires, a pricey fix.

See here. The emblem can be popped off without removing the airbag assembly.
