question about jump starting a manual trans
All -
Since these cars are so prone to dead batteries, I was wondering this: if I turn the key to the on position, roll the car down the hill, and pop the clutch, will it start the car? I know you can do this with older cars with a manual trans, so I was wondering if I could do it with the new Mustangs. Let me know.

RE: question about jump starting a manual trans
excellent question. when my battery has died, it has died totally and completely. That means no power for the fuel pump, and no power for the ECM to fire the injectors.
I haven't tried it, but my guess would be no, it won't work unless there is enough power in the battery to power the fuel pump and ECM.

RE: question about jump starting a manual trans
Worked for me last night................car is in the shop for seriuos computer issues. It died after about a half hour of sitting. I did it in second so it didnt jerk the crap out of me and my wife. It definately works though. Just get it rolling good and pop the clutch. Switch in the "ON" position.
Good luck
