Very Little Difference between the 3.31 and 3.55, maybe a .10th secwith 3.55 it would be 13.7 which would be about right with the added 100 lbs weight

That's funny, Road and Track and Motortrend both get different curb weights. Who are we supposed to believe?

If they are referencing the 05-06 curb weights then they were to lazy to weight the car, The 07 are heavier because of the GT-500 5.4L Iron Block Monster, they needed to redesign the strut towers to supportcontain the 500 horses hehe, Also a beefier K-Member and a few more things I cant remember.Sometimes those Mags get lazy and use the previous year stats and only list the new features.

I believe the 05's & 06's were something like 3485, which makes the 07 only about 115 lbs. heavier.
Not only has it been structurally improved however, but the steering was improved as well.
Not a bad trade-off at all if you ask me.

If every 07 owner and his wife or g / f goes on a diet, that should take care of the weight difference right there...
LOL

stock for stock the 06 is slightly faster only due to the weight and gears, but if you opt to get the 3.55 gears in the 07 they are basicly the same. I would get the stock 07 though because if you are going to pay for new gears wait and put the $100 towards a set of 4.10's

How come the 2005 mustang gt ran the 1/4 mile at 13.5 @104mph and the 2006 mustang gt ran 1/4 mile at 13.6 @103mph. The specs onboth are identical, so is it possible the 05 was slightly quicker than the 06 in the 1/4 mile because only 17inch wheels and tires were available for the 2005's and the 2006 they tested had the optional 18inch wheels and tires which are about 5lbs heavier at each corner for a total of 20lbs. I know there are alot reasons and variables why the 05 could have been quicker, just curious if the wheels and tires could have been a contributing factor.

weather or even driver skill (or lack there of) could contribute to differences that small. Did the driver have his coffee this morning, if no that could easilt add half a second to my 1/4 mile time. But then again I'm an addict. But i'm sure they try to mimic conditions as much as humanly possible for each test.

I love the way my '05 handles compared to the '07 I drove the other day. The '07 feels much larger and more boatish in it's handling because, mostly, of the redesigned steering.

I've driven an 06 and an 07, and do notice the steering difference. Can you elaborate on what they did and why? Thanks.
