I have readseveral forums on "GEARS". I find it hard to believe that these gear sets are selling for less than $500 for a matched ring and pinion set. I build race cars for a living, and havent sold a gear set for less than $1000.00 ever think that these bargain priced parts that are being installed might be the cause and not the installer. I refuse to install any parts supplied by the customer for just this reason.

Ok so the second place installed the gears and everything seems good. There's a minor whine when decelerating but nothing unbearable. It's definately better than the other install for now!
The ali driveshaft is definately lighter but it hasn't made any difference with regards to the noises coming from the transmission and drivetrain in general, ah well!

Do you have stock tires?

Since this was bought back up, I'll give you an update. Took the car to a different dealer. Service mgr rode with me, heard the woob woob and the hum. Put microphones on all four wheel areas listening for anything unusual. Found excessive noise on reardrivers side. Replaced that half axle - boom. 90% better. No more hum. Still very minor woob woob, which is probably uneven tire wear. Don't even notice it now. I'm convinced the mild flutter I hear is also the tires, as it has gottten better with time and no longer sounds like gear noise. Finally enjoying my car again.

. They will also put on a ali prop to see if it solves the "seat of the pant" vibration at 80mph+. Wish me luck guys... although it doesn't look promising!
