New "Zoomerang" Survey

New "Zoomerang" Survey
I bring this up because I found some of the questions intriguing.
In every survey I ask myself, "What are they trying to find out?"
It seemed to me that this survey was very interested in fuel mileage, styling, and performance.
One very interesting question was when they asked if I would consider a V6 if it gave the same performance and fuel efficiency as a V8?
A really stupid question was this one:
Today's Mustang GT is available with 300 Horsepower, 0-60 in 5.8 seconds with fuel economy of 17/22. Imagine a future Mustang GT was available with the following three engine choices, which one would you choose?
Engine X - 300 Horsepower, 0-60 in 5.8 seconds with fuel economy of 17/22, base price
Engine Y - 370 Horsepower, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with fuel economy of 17/23, $1000 more than engine X
Engine Z - 370 Horsepower, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with fuel economy of 19/25, $1000 more than engine X
Well, first their numbers are off. Second, why would anyone choose engine Y over engine Z???
The next question is even more intriguing!!
The following engine specifications are the same as you saw previously, except that information on engine displacement and number of cylinders has been added. Given this new information, what would be your engine preference?
Engine X - 4.6L V8, 300 Horsepower, 0-60 in 5.8 seconds with fuel economy of 17/22, base price
Engine Y - 5.0L V8, 370 Horsepower, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with fuel economy of 17/23, $1000 more than X
Engine Z - 3.5L V6, Twin Turbo, 370 Horsepower, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with fuel economy of 19/25, $1000 more than X
Clearly Ford appears to be gauging our willingness to accept a more fuel efficient engine design that moves away from the traditional V8...
Other questions asked about options (most interestingly IRS and 6-speed) and if you would be willing to pay X-amount for said option.
Anyone else get this survey?

RE: New "Zoomerang" Survey
I just filled out the survey. Yeah, lets make the V8 more powerful and worry about fuel economoy with the V6.. Interesting though that they mentioned a 5.0 Maybe we'll be seeing a new engine platform. Too bad I don't plan on selling my car... ah well, time to bore her out to 5.2.

I got it too...What are some of the featureseverybody listed you'd like to have in the future?
How about a functional Ram Air hood, or auto-tinting windows? Don't even know if they've
invented thoseyet...but I want em. And it sounds like we're getting at least 370 horse. Cool!

RE: New "Zoomerang" Survey
Told 'em they could leave the blown V6s to Buick and the imports
I asked for higher displacement N/A modular engines 5.4 or better yet 5.8 with a frickin' forged bottom end, a one piece driveshaft, and weight reduction. An upgraded suspension would be good as a factory option vs. an FRPP bolt-on.
Rear parking assist and retractable hardtops don't do a thing to keep the bow-tie boys in their places.

RE: New "Zoomerang" Survey
In the section where they asked why you chose the engine option from the three they listed I told them that I preferred larger displacement n/a engines over smaller forced induction engines. I hope that sentiment is echoed by plenty of people who take the survey. At the very end where they asked if there were any other options you'd like I suggested a 5.4 liter DOHC n/a V8 making ~400 hp. I'm probably dreaming, but hey, if I don't ask...

RE: New "Zoomerang" Survey
i'm pretty happy with 300hp although i wouldn't turn down more hp andmight even pay a little more for an upgraded engine.
so, i asked for a sunroof and a driver seat that moves back automatically when you open the door. had it on my explorer eddie bauer and loved it. would make getting in and out a lot easier (and i'm a skinny guy!)...
