search came up empty, probably a topic beaten to death already... Speakers... who uses what? Not looking for a competition stereo, wondering if speakers would clean up the sound. I like the shaker for now. I will be getting a new HU eventually, but i want a navigation screen, so i am waiting on that one. For now though, would speakers sound better? Which brand? Ive always used Polk or Clarion (best speakers I ever bought). Who uses what and how does it sound compared to stock? Was itworth the money?

I'm suprised your search didn't work. There are a zillion threads about this!

The factory speakers are 5x7/6x8 (these days the two bolt patterns are usually identical), both front and rear. The Infinity 6812CF are a popular upgrade, and you can find them for about $35 a pair on Ebay (brand new). They are a simple drop-in replacement for OEM. They are a little bright, but they are much better than factory.

If you prefer a different brand just get the same size and they will drop right in.

same speakers all around? So buy two pairs?

How hards install? I ve replaced many a speaker in my previous cars, always left with extra parts... Not going to do that with the stang... trying to keep her nice!
edit: According to crutchfield that speaker number only fits the rear deck, not the front door...

Everytime I search as well, I get nothing. I type in Shaker and then selec the 2005+ threads and it says there is nothing found. The search never works for me either...

Yes, same speaker all around. Two pairs. They drop right in....I assure you they fit the front door, I have installed many a pair.

Now with installation, lots of plastic snaps to break? I know the screw is behind the door handle... With my dodge pickup, i ended up breaking all but 4 of the snaps on the back of the door, every time i closed the door, it came apart and i had to push it back on... Trying to not do that with this car... any info will be graciously accepted...

Also, would one be smart to apply the mole skin whilst in the door?

Which version of the shaker do you have, the 500 or 1000?

From what I can tell the system speakers are a little different between the two.

I have the shaker 500... Been looking on crutchfield and only a few speakers will fit both door and rear deck...Kinda scares me... More research i guess!
