Howarmat -- To get back behind the **** controls, would I take off the entire center console just as if I were about to install a new radio? Is this the only way to get access to the connection you're refering to? Thanks.

If the compressor is kicking in then there's no reason to check the switch. My '05 has done this a couple of times where it just quits cooling and then a few minutes later it starts cooling again. I believe there's a TSB on the compressor on the 05's as well.
