Default Track Tested Ba machips 93 race tune

Yesterday was opening day at one my local 1/4 mile drag strips. I finally was able to test out my race tune from doug and let me tell you this tune definately makes awesome horsepower. My mph trap speeds at the 1/8 mile and 1/4 were personal best at 84.2mph and 106.5mph with the mods in the my sig. I was a little rusty onlaunches and track prep wasn't that good being the first day withhardly any rubber laid down,so my best 60ft time wasonly a 2.10but still managed a 13.19 @106.5mph. I tied my personal best 1/4 mile et with that 13.19, but with a slower 60ft time by .12. If i can cut a 1.95 60ft like i have in the past it should go 12.90's. There is definately more et in this car.

That is a good deal. You numbers look great and 12's are in the near future. My next mod is going to be picking up a tuner and some tunes. I have to do something with this throttle lag. Good luck with the car.

Thanks, I am determined to hit 12.90's on street tires with the mods in my sig. I was tempted to let my buddy drive the car since he's 110lbs lighter than me and a descent driver. With the weight reduction and a 1.95 60ft he would've probably ran a 12.9, but then he would say he's a better driver than meand weight reduction had nothing to do with it.

Nice job. I too am trying to reach the 12s on street tires, with similiar mods minus the O/R Pipe. I have LCAs too but I can't seem to break the 2.0 60'. My best 1/4 is in my signature, but if I could just cut a better 60' I should get 13.00 or even 12.99. Track is open here just waiting for decent weather.

Can you please post your 330ft and 1/8th times. We only have an 1/8th track and I would like to see how the mods you have compare on the same length run to the mods I have. I have never run a 1/4 but your MPH is comparable to mine in the 1/8th. It would be nice to have an idea what my car may be capable of in the 1/4. Thanks

Here is the full run.
2.107--60ft
5.603--330ft
8.528--1/8et
84.22--1/8mph
13.19--1/4et
106.50--1/4mph

Also had a couple of 13.2's at 106.xx. The 60ft times on those were in the2.14 range.

I must be really slow at shifting or not shifting at the right rpm. My best run I had a 2.06 60ft and a 106.05 trap speed, but still only managed a 13.67. My 1/8th time was 8.89@80.18 so that's where I'm loosing time. Do you power shift? I know I get a little spin shifting into second, but it shouldn't lose me that much time.

what rpm do you shift at?

I haven't been back to the track since installing my driveshaft so maybe i'll do a bit better.

Some people fail to realize how much power you get from an O/R Setup. When I had my O/R Pipes I went 13.2 @ 106, and all I had was that, C&L Intake and 93 Octane Tune (brenspeed.) I think I shifted around 6500 as well.

The downside to the O/R Pipe is that it's 1) Illegal 2) Makes uneven exhaust tones. By this I mean Revving/Cruising speeds it sounds fantastic, but normal driving especially accelerating up to speeds the tones break up and it sounds something horrible in my opinion.

I removed the O/R Pipe because of this and since have replaced my power supporting mods with UDPs. The UDPs are fantastic and my new personal best was 13.1 @ 107. Track conditions were similar to my previous best, tires of course had more wear on them. I had more practice, but still the launches were nearly identical and I'm sure I was shifting around 6500 (which I'm not sure I need to do. Plus I'm shifting when I see 6500 so it's possible that I'm shifting around 6700.)

Actually i've never powershifted, i'm to afraid of hurting something. I shift at 6500rpms on the 1-2-3 shifts and i go through the traps in third gear at 6300rpms. I tried 6200 rpms shifts last year and my times slowed down .1-.15. My cars pulls strong all the way to 6500rpms. Your 1/4 mile trap speed is good, but why is your 1/8mile trap only 80.18mph. You might be shifting to slow from 2-3 and your losing mph and et as a result of it. Make sure you rev limiter is set at 6800rpms and try shifting 6400-6500rpms. You need at least a 300-400 rpmbuffer, because i was told by doug that our throttle starts to close as you approach the rev limiter.
