Default Great gas mileage

I have a GT with a totally stock 4.6L V8. Last weekend, I drove from here (Dallas) to Austin and back. On the way there, it was pretty heavy traffic. It was even stop and go in places. I got 25.5 MPG. Before I started back, I reset the MPG. About half the time, the cruise control was set for 80, but at times I had to slow down to as low as 65 or 70 for traffic. I finally hit some bumper-to-bumper traffic due to construction north of Hillsboro (130 miles from Austin), but before I hit that, I got 27.7 MPG. Needless to say, I'm happy with the highway mileage.

I did a road trip from SLC to the west coast last summer and averaged around 25mpg at 80 mph. These motors are fairly good on gas. Beats the 15mpg my 2001 Durango got on the highway.

You didn't have hills either. It something to see the MPG go down on some simple hills..
