LSD on the stock Mustang GT

RE: LSD on the stock Mustang GT
The stock LSD are clutch-type diffs and they aren't very strong. Most guys looking to put some power to the ground go with a Detriot Trutrac which is a helical gear type. I have one sitting on my floor waiting to go on now. They are supposed be a lot stronger, lock up a lot quicker, and be quieter than the stock diff. Got mine for $439.

RE: LSD on the stock Mustang GT
Wouldn't call them indestructable but they are a lot stonger than the 28 spline axles offered in previous years. They are said to be good to about 550-600hp. Now if ford would just throw a trutrac in the back stock, maybe with some 4.10s or at least 3.73s forthe hwy guys[sm=pimp.gif]

Nope,the S197 has31 spline axle.

Anyway, strength of the diff and strength of the axles are two totally different things. The axles in these cars are very strong, but the diffs are not very good at all.
