Default since posting in the wheel & tire section didn't work

What back spacing is the "correct" spacing for the S197's? I want to order the black chrome FR500's , 18x8 front and 18x10 rears. But all the sites only have them listed up to 04[:@]. Also, whats the widest rear tire we can run?

The FR500 won't fit your 05 because the bolt pattern and hub size are different.

The bolt pattern and hub are the same on 2004s and 05+. The difference is the offset.

You certainly used to be able to get FR500s that did fit, with correct spacing for 05+. I bought four of them about a year ago from Mustang Tuning. They have since changed their name to American Muscle...and for some reason they don't list those wheels anymore. Perhaps they were discontinued?

Anyway, for the 05+ they were only available in 18x9. If you want them in different sizes you have to have them modified.

I am running the 18x9 up front, and I had my rears widened by Weldcraft in Michigan to 10.5".

Do a forum search for information about tire widths. The widest tire you can run depends on a lot of different factors....like exactly how your wheels are spaced, etc. I am running 295/45 R18 in the rear on the aforementioned wheels and I have about 1/2 inch of clearance at my shock, which is the minimum I feel comfortable with running. Of course, with a different backspacing you can go wider.

thanks, thats what I thought. I really like the look of the wheels and a deep dish rear would look even better. I'll have to look into it a little bit more.
Thanks again

Your desire for a deep dish "FR500"may present problems. With the offset that these cars need and the design of the FR500 wheel, you cannothave a deep dish unless you are ok with the outside lip of the wheel sticking out of the wheelwell. If you want wider wheels but you want to keep the lip of the wheel in the factory position, then you have to widen inwards....in other words, no deep dish.

Where have you found the black chrome FR500 wheels? I like the look but haven't found a web site witht these. I'll probably stick with just 18 x 9, though.

07 GT Alloy, Auto
Steeda CAI & Brenspeed tune(ordered, can't wait)

I have never seen them in black chrome. I have seen bright chrome, silver, and black painted with a polished lip.

If you don't find the finish you want you can always have them painted or chromed however you want. I wanted to duplicate the look of the "real" black-anodized FR500 wheels from Fikse, but I wasn't about to pay the price for the real Fikses, so instead I bought some others and then had them powdercoated locally.
