Avoid S&B CAI. They claimed that tuning is not needed but they're wrong. I had problems with them and was corrected with SCT II tuning. I replaced mine with JLT II and tuned with SCT by Ed Rios at the Muscle Motors Performance in Canoga Park. Works great with my set-up. No regrets with it.

I also installed GMS CAI and no tune yet . . . runs great without a tune but I plan to tune for 93 octane and dyno it before and after tune to see how much difference, if any.

I have the AFE 2006 GT Cold Air System which does't require a tune.

The aFe Product Sheet states that they gained 19 HP and 22 ft/lbs torque with this system and no flash needed. If you are looking for some more horsepower, an easy install, some cool looks under the hood and all without having the break the bank or risk warranty issues with a fancy computer flash, the aFe Cold Air system is the ticket.

I was told that if you get a tune, you are tampering with the car's computer and could void the warranty. Is there any truth to this?

That's one reason why I went with the aFe 2 stage. I have been questioning the warranty issue with my dealer (Sessler Ford) that is a Ford Racing dealer. You can always go with their CAI and Ford Racing Pro-Cal tune and keep your warranty. At least that's what they tell me.

hehe...many posts on the warranty question....most all of us have not had any trouble at all.....others worry themselves to death over replaing the mufflers. Its going to come down to the dealer. If you are worried about the warranty then leave it stock. If something happens to mine and ford wont do anything then I will do it myself, I am willing to take the risk, then again i know my dealer is pretty cool about everything.
