Questions & Comments Regarding Tunes...
Ok, If I am to understand this correctly, ya get the SCT or other device designed to flash/tune your car... then you download a tune from say JDM or Brenspeed, then hook it up the the car and add that information....and 'presto' the car is "tuned"...
Now here is what I don't get, these tunes were done by someone whom lives in a different climate, with different atmospheric pressures..(ie, different heights above sea level)
On another note, regarding the saleen tune/flash, is it possible that thier tune (according to a few posts I've read) is lesser because of the fact that I believe that California doesn't have 93 octane gas... If I remember the highest out there is 91?
I would think to really get the car properly tuned would have many factors and would need to be done locally and on a per car basis, I would think that differnt CAI's, exhaust combos, atmospheric pressures, ambient average temps...fuel used, etc, etc would have a big impact on the tune...
Forgive me if I'm way off base here, but I a noob and still trying to find my way...

RE: Questions & Comments Regarding Tunes...
You can get a tune for 91 or 93. There is no doubt that a tune done local on a dyno is the best, but that said a tune from a good source will work great. I got one from VPM and am very happy with it. If you have an auto the shift pressure is a lot better and the throttle responce is much better. You can get them to make up what ever tune you want, such as with a CAI, NOS, and so forth. hope maybe this helps a little.

You would actually buy the CAI and SCT with Tunes from the source such as Brenspeed, B amachips, EVO and they have a pretty large data base and can give you tunes based on where you are. They even tune for fuel grade such as here in Ca. they actually tune for not only the 91 Octane but also the 10% Ethanol we use.
