ORIGINAL: nonstopred

I saw pictures of someones when they got theirs and they looked rustyish...did this happen.
Rustyish? No, no rust of any kind. Infact they were perfect except for the blemish which i'm sure is a factory defect. If they had been shipped UPS, they'd be bent all to **** i'm sure. Luckily they use Fedex.

I think I confused some of you with the term "FIT". They fit fine, it's just the opening is way larger than needed compared to stock, which makes getting a good seal a PITA.

GTAs look great I just installed mine, but they are not perfect.
Seems that they have shortened the tips and/or overall length, mine stays more inside than the stocks. What I've seen GTAs before, they stick out from the bumper for an inch or maybe even more, and mine stays more in than stock muffler tips. Don't have pictures how they look outside, it was too dark already.

The length of the pipe is not perfect either, here's a picture how I managed to install the mufflers. The mufflers just didn't go in as far as the stock muffler but they are still well enough overlapping each others, and they seem to be sealed.
From the other picture you can see difference in length when comparing stock vs. GTA.

The sound... hmm.. you could notice the difference in startup, maybe just a bit louder than stock and on highway you barely hear them.
On load they give nice sound. But, let's give them 1000 miles or so, I hope they get a bit louder.
Good thing is they don't sound raspy as Shelby or GT-H.

I love my GTAs. Easy install, but I did have to tighten the living sh-- out of the clamps to get them to seal. It definitely makes a big difference exactly where you position the clamps before you tighten them down.

Wow, I just bought a set and they were delivered yesterday. Same lousy pack job and same hole in box as someone mentioned. I was looking forward to installing them this weekend but now I have my reservations. It seems like it would be an easy installation but I'm getting a sense that this may not be true. Damn! How do you check to see if the seal is leaking?

I saw a post about a week ago, which had a link to instruction on another forum. When the issue of fitment came up, the guy loosened the H-pipe and that allowed him to get a good seal on the axlebacks... When I get home from work I'll post that link.

I'll go out on a limb here and suggest to you that practically all clamped pipe connections have some leakage. Thats why welding is the preffered method of exhaust installation. I'm also confident that you'll live even if you have some leakage. You breath in more exhaust fumes when you have the window down at a traffic light. BTW I have had both the stingers and the GTA. They both fit well. The stingers did require me to assist the bend slightly in order to get that perfectly aligned look. Just a slight manipulation on my part did the trick. As far as the clamping, I just made sure the metal tab was firmly in the slot and tightened the clamp. All is well.

I also have a blemish on the underside of the tip for the passenger side muffler (what's up with that?)
Was it on the inside of the tip? Mines right on the inside edge.
Same place.....right at the 6 o'clock position.
