Putting in an In-Dash DVD player?

Putting in an In-Dash DVD player?
I want to replace my Shaker 500 head unit with some kind of double-din in-dash multimedia player type thing. Touch screen, plays videos, one of those type units. So I was just wondering if the install is very challenging if you're just replacing the head unit with a new one (And leaving all the speakers and subs as they are.) I've seen posts about removing the panels around the center console and all that, so that shouldn't be a problem, but I was wondering about the hookup itself. It is a simple unplugging of the connectors hooked into the Shaker 500 and plugging them back into the new head unit, or is there a bunch of wiring involved (messing with the power supply, grounding connections, running new connections to the speakers and all that stuff, etc)?
Can anyone who's changed their head unit shed a little light?
