Default Suggestions on Saleen and tune install in northwest

I have been pondering the Series VI install on my '05 GT for awhile now and have decided that it is a go. I have been witness to several great deals on group buy prices and am more than capable of performing the install in my driveway and getting a JDM or equivalent tune. The problem...Canada Customs at the very least will charge me 6% tax at the border, but more than likely will slap on a plethora of other tariffs. I have gotten a quote from the local Saleen dealer...parts alone are a thieving $8500!

The solution? To take a road trip down to the closest/best Saleen installer in the northwest (I live in Edmonton, AB) and have it professionally installed and tuned on the spot and then roll back across the border tax free. Granted I will pay a higher price for the product compared to the tax savings of doing it myself, but I can have the satisfaction of a certified install, plus I get a great road trip out of it which I would do anyways.

Please let me know about recommendations on a great installer, other avenues that I could pursue, or some other suggestions to my situation.

The more I think about your question the more it freaks me out. Is there a tarriff on these there? If so wouldn't you have to declare it when you return?

Plan to make that visit to last several days. The way you phrased it, you're planning on making a day trip of it. If you can take a 1-week vacation and get it done then, that'd be cool. I doubt they'd check under the hood but what about the extra parts you'll be bringing back? If they search, they'll wonder where that stuff came from.

I would make it at least a week, check out the sights, maybe head through to Yellowstone Park, that kind of stuff, be a couple weeks overall...
