Default Stock Fuel Pump Rating? Need Help ASAP

Hiya Guys,

My BBK Fuel pump crashed and burned. How much HP can the stock fuel pump handle? I'm running the powerdyne kit so i'm pushing about 400 rwhp. Do you think the stock pump will work for a few weeks while my new pump comes in?

I have ~400rwhp with the stock pump, no problem- from what I hear is good for around 500hp (rwhp or bhp unsure).

Mine is losing pressure a bit at WOT. It's not causing the car to lean out but I'm at the edge at 405HP.

Ok, just an update for those of you who are interested. We took the walbro/bbk fuel pump (that was included in the s/c kit) out and attached it to a 12 volt source, and it sparked, and did all kinds of crazy ****. So, not wanting sparks in my gas tank, we threw it away and replaced it with the stock pump. Not sure what the A/F is looking like, I don't have a gauge for it and there are no Dynos open today. Guess it will have to wait for tomorrow.

The piggyback fuel pump and 39 lb injectorsthat came with the supercharger, were insufficient at about 500 rwhp. No problems everat 480 rwhp though. It's only when we extended the rpm range above 6000, that we discovered theunit putting out a lot more boost and associated rwhp.So I imagine a stock GT pumpand injectorswould have been overextended at somewhatless rwhp (don't know where though). Forced to go to 60 pounders and the GT500 dual pump fuel system.

Stock pump will hold until around 460rwhp and 5500 rpms before you lose pressure. The Walbro pump is a return style pump and our cars are returnless style fuel systems. That means that pump will only work for a short period then it will give out on you.

My HO Whipple kit comes standard with the dual GT500 pumps from Ford. It can handle what ever you throw at it.
