When I first read this thread last night, I was looking at the first picture before the other links and video was poster and was thinking to myself... "Freak'n Europeans jacking with everything." and wondering if in fact it was in Europe. Then the video only confirmed it. yup, freak'n europeans. haha...

This isn't to be an insult, I have tons of European friends, having lived there for a few years, but that's them, always messing with crap... Pretty cool non-the-less.

I love convertibles, and I would have lovedto get one when I bought my 07, but I just didn't like thelook of the car with the top up, and in the Seattle area, that's the way it would be most of the year. I love the sloping roof line of the S197 coupes. The idea of a convertible hardtop is great, but from the photos, they didn't execute it very well IMO. The roof line is wrong and the rear 1/4 window is gone, not to mention deletion of the back seat to get it done. The other big strike against there ever being a convertible hardtop on the S197 or the next generation Mustang is weight. These cars are already at their power to weight ratio as far as I'm concerned.

That is atrocious. Practicality and esthetics have been sacrificed for a completely unnessesary vehicle. Can you imagine what it would cost to retrofit that monster and the problems it will probably give its unlucky owner. There are plenty retractables available, why destroy a beautiful Mustang?

And here's the funniest thing: Ford already HAS a convertible!!! Ha Ha ha!
I mean why aren't they looking to give a retractable roof to the Fusion, or Escape or whatever???
