RE: Hurst shifter any regrets?
I installed one about a month ago and am very pleased with the result. Shifts are nowshort, firmand crisp. The lever settles into gear with a satisfying "snap". I chose a black ball instead of the white one andwhen combined with a dark interior and the chrome lever, the look is very understated and, well, cool.
If you're looking for a short-throw shifter with a firmer feel than stock, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed with the Hurst. I'm sure you can buy more expensive shifters machined from billet stock but I'm not sure what advantages they offerother thanslightlyless weight andhigher strength. To me, neither of those factors seemed significant enoughto justify the exta cost - the weight saving seemed minimal at best and the Hurst is alreadyplenty strong. Sometimes the most expensive solution isn't necessarily the best.
Having said that, it's always a matter of personal choice - I like the Hurst and have no regrets. Good luck.
