RE: '03 SVT Cobra vrs '06 Whipple GT
It will be close and the fact that he has some work done to it and the car is a 4v V-8 and if it is S/C'd the one ford uses in the cobra is close to the one you are installing now. It will be up to driver ability and if you get the better hook on the launch. JMO but I am biased and say you will win by a hair.

Still have the IRS in theCobra?
A member on the Vintage Mustang Forum was asking what was the best suspension for a Vintange Mustang. Well there was much disussion on this subject. But here isa quote from a knowledgeable member.
So the Cobra may have some trouble "hooking up" fd
EXAMPLE - I sell a kit for installing late model Cobra IRS units into the early Mustangs. The reason there are IRS units available for the swap is because guys who drag race their late model Cobras can't get the IRS unit to lock up on the drag strip - it's just not engineered for that. People who call me and want to do that I usually recommend that they get a live axle setup.

RE: Still have the IRS in theCobra?
that Cobra has traction control on it... he used it yesterday in front on the house and it still smoked the tires all the way through 3rd gear. he laid down tire marks for about 200 feet. but he was trying to do it. and yes, its supercharged (i thought all of the SVT Cobras were though) and the head work was done a few weeks ago. he has like a stage 4 clutch in there and it takes a lot to push that b!tch down....which causes him to miss gears sometimes.....so i will definitely outdrive him.
