'03 SVT Cobra vrs '06 Whipple GT
So, I am sitting here installing my Whipple on my GT when my uncle walks in the garage and says he has something for me once I am done. I just laughed and said whatever. He said, no seriously, I just bought one of the only 2003 SVT Cobra here in Brevard County, FL. So, needless to say, I put down my wrench and walked over to his garage. He took the car cover off of this shiny @ss black convertible Cobra and asked if I was interested in running him later. I just laughed and told him he probably couldnt keep it on the road with training wheels. Then he proceeds to pop the trunk and pull out a dyno sheet that shows the car rated at 427HP and 395 TQ. Then he popped the hood and showed me the goods. This car is pretty much in mint condition. Its got less than 20k miles on it and I was just amazed that he actually bought something like that. (He was always a Chevy guy - has a tubbed out Monte Carlo in the garage with a 454 from one of those race buggys you see at monster truch rallys, the buggys that shoot across the mud pits. yeah, he has a motor from one of those in that thing)
Anyways, how do you guys think I will do in a heads up race with him? His 2003 SVT Cobra at 427HP versus my 2006 GT with a HO Whipple.
I do not know the weight differences in the two cars but I know his is supercharged, ported and polished heads, 3" exhaust, subframe connectors, etc. Any ideas?
He put $2k in front of me and jokingly told me to push my "junk" out in the street when I am ready to lose.

What's a Whipple HO put out on an otherwise stock car? 450+HP at the wheels right? Their website seems to imply it's even over 500HP at the wheels. Sounds like if you can hookup it should be an easy win.

What about top end? He was just over here again mumbling something about running over 160 MPH and chasing me down.
I told him to go away with the NASCAR nonsense because I aint never running this brand new car that fast for any reasons.
I am pretty sure this car will take him in the 1/4 with no issues. I may have to slap some slicks on the back but I will keep you posted on the verdict.
