18" DD Bullitts vs 17" Stockers.
 
Those who have upgraded their 17" wheels to DD Bullitts running 285/40/18 in the back, and 255/45/18 in the front. Did you weight them each to see how much they weight? Wondering how much weight one would be picking up with such a swap.

I think the 18x10 DD bullitts are around 30lbs and the 18x9 are about 28. I could be wrong though. I know the 17" stockers are around 22lbs as the wheel tire combo is 50lbs and tire rack has the Pirelli at 28lbs.

Yes i did brah. I have DD on the back and regular on the front and the tires are nittos...the size you are asking about. The stock wheel and tires were 44lbs. The new fronts are 54 and the rear about 58. But remember it's "unsprung" weight.

What do you mean, unsprung weight? That's still a 48 lb increase in rotational mass.

If I remember the conversion corectly, for every 1 lbs of added unsprung weight it is like adding 4lbs of sprung weight. This is an easier and more common weight that people talk about. 100 lbs of added sprung weight will add 0.1 sec in the 1/4 but it can be compensated for by 10whp increase.

I have never heard of the stock 17"s wheel and tire combo only weighing 44 lbs, more like 50lbs which has been reported by many members here. Tire rack listed the Pirelli 235/55/17 at 28lbs so that means if it is 44 lbs total the wheel weighs 16 lbs which is BS. 16lbs is lighter than nearly all the lightweight rims out there. Tire rack listed their 17" bullitts 17x8 at 22.5 lbs.

So lets say the stockers weigh 50 lbs and lets assume the weights of 54 lbs for the front 18x9 and the 58 lbs for the 18x10 rears (which I think is a little low, since Tire rack lists those tires at 31 and 32 lbs respectively making the wheels only 23 lbs and 26 lbs respectively). Therefore you have an extra 8 lbs of unsprung weight in the front and 16 lbs in the rear.

So a total of 24 lbs of added weight times 4 to translate it into sprung weight and you have about 100 lbs. So theoretically they should slow you down a tenth in the1/4 and you should lose ~10whp on the dyno (kinda like the people sporting heavy 20" rims lose whp on the dyno). However, before all the BS comes out saying that their 1/4 times improved, you need to look at it this way. You have a bigger contact patch with those bigger tires so your 60' times should be better which will improve your 1/4 times.

Just telling you what my bathroom scale said when i set the suckers on there. It was a 10lb. difference per wheel/tire on the front and 14lb. per wheel for the back.

yeah i have the same combo. never weighed it but they def. feel heavier. Look soo sweet though.
