Saleen Series VI Service Doc's/Info?
Alright, I've googled and searched the forums looking for any docs for simple maintenanceinfo like: What oil weight, oil change frequency (50k miles followed by 5k miles intervals?), how to change the oil, intercooler coolant type, how to check/change/fill the coolant... Simple stuff but stuff I dont know.
Anyone have this info or know where I can find it (Saleen's Web site only has install manuals)? I thought I read a thread in this forum that talked about changing the oil but I sure as **** can't find it.
tia.

RE: Saleen Series VI Service Doc's/Info?
This is about the extent of the info I've found in forums; can't confirm the specifics like the oil weight and the coolant mix. Can anyone confirm?
*"To check the water in your intercooler: There is a tank next to the radiator on the passenger side. Use a 50/50 antifreeze mix, I just buy mobile home antifreeze – it’s already mixed."
Correction to coolant mix (from Saleen Installation Manaul): Use 80/20 mix.
* "Check for leaks on the radiator overflow tank - notorious for problems. Also on the intercooler pump connections - tighten once in a while."
* "Not that I'm going to change the supercharger oil right now, but it also calls for 5 - 50 at 50,000 miles, then every 5,000 miles thereafter."
Correction to oil change intervals (from Saleen): Every 50,000 miles.
* "The design for checking the oil is horrible. There is an allen head bolt that must be taken out, in the front of the SC and you practically have to take everything apart to get to it. To change out the oil, you'll need some kind of suction device." (I once read a writeup on this but can't find it)

this is what I got from Saleen themselves today: they were very quick with the reply...

I purchased a saleen series VI supercharger for my 2005 mustang Gt: I am in need of a tech guidelines handbook which advises the details on when and how to change the oil in the supercharger itself. what type of oil needs to be used: how to check the oil level in the supercharger: how to check the coolant level in the intercooler and what coolant to use if and when to flush that system etc. does such a book exist??can you please advise..
thanks

As per saleen, the oil they put in it at the factory is good for 100,000 miles. Its a special synthetic s/c oil. You will prob never have to change it. Just make sure the level is up to the threads. Mine was low as some leaked out during shipping. You can get the oil from them($50 per pint). You could also use synthetic 5/50 but would have to change it regularly. The sheer pita factor involved in changing the oil makes it worth it to use saleen's oil. S/c only holds 1 pint of oil. As for the intercooler. Water dissipates heat better than antifreeze, so the more water you can use in the mix the better.

the manual he sent me looks a little different that the one that came with my supercharger...it has more details at the end for upgrade kits and 2007 as well as automatic tranny 05-07 stang...something my book did not have...which I truly did not get much of a book...more or less just photo copied pages....TJ

Thanks. How, where, etc on how to check the oil?
Intercooler coolant (from the Installation Manual): "Fill the intercooler recovery tank with an 80/20 water/anti-freeze mix...".
Thanks again.
