I think gus (original poster) runs better than 13.7...look at his mods
also Gus, we buy these cars because they look better than the majority of the cars you listed, they sound better than ALL OF THEM (yes even the GTO), and because we love torque. The M3 and GTO have torque but are much more expensive

GTO's are no more expensive then a nicely equipped GT. the difference is that the gto comes loaded and you have to optoin up the mustang to get to that price. Heck my vert was 4k sticker to sticker over a gto.

Damn, everyone keeps on bringing up my old-school threads - lol. Anyway, my car should run 12.9 - 13.2 this Summer depending on my suspension and tires - we'll see.

Is it just an American thing to have someone pull up beside you and want to race? In 22 years of driving everything the Mustang and a Charger all the way downto a Hyundai, I can't say I've ever experienced anyone ever wanting to race. It's not even that I do my driving away from lots of other cars - my first 8 years of driving were in the Toronto area, the last 14 have been in Vancouver. It seems shocking that some people are getting "challenged" if you will 4 or 5 times a day, while it has never happened to me once.

Doesn't happen to me and I live in the US. Once in a while someone will pull up to me and look over, possibly checking to see if I want to race but I just ignore them. I think it's likely that those who think they are constantly being challenged are, in actuality, not. That's why you see the posts like "Beat a Z06 today" or "Dusted an M3".
I think it's pretty silly anyway. Without lights and timers it really just depends on who gets on the gas first. WAY too childish to risk losing your license over or possibly killing someone. I'm secure enough that I don't find the need to prove myself.
Also, if you want to find out who's faster, there are tons of places to look up 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for any given car.
