Default Mustang in Japan

Well, here I am nearly 3 months into my military "deployment" sitting out in the sun enjoying a beer in the vicinity of Mt Fuji. I was at a really nice outdoor mall type place. Although it's not Iraq (been there), I'm still in Hell because I'm not with my Mustang. Anyways, I suddenly hear that distinct Mustang exhaust and I quickly turn my head to see this black 05+ Mustang GT turn the corner in the nearby parking lot. I couldn't believe my eyes! In a place that's swarming with rice and box cars, I see (and hear) this thing of beauty. I quickly finish my beer and walk towards the parking lot, looking for the Mustang. I finally find it and a Japanese couple (early 30's) is getting out of the car. I tell the guy, "nice car" and that I also have one back in the States. He spoke English too. I asked him if Mustangs were popular in Japan. He said, "Not yet." I took a picture of it (I'll post it soon). It had a Magnaflow exhaust, chin spoiler, ducktail and 20-inch black wheels. Thought I would share that with everyone. I didn't expect to see any Mustangs out here.

a deployment in Japan, man i would take that any day over the desert, been there too. When i was stationed in Korea, there was a red 96-98 Cobra at Kunsan, i would see it everyday walking to the gym, sooo nice. i was missing my 95GT so bad. Then when we went to Osan, there was a 94-95 Mustang GT, white. but it had the Red R's under the GT badge, so that was pissing me off. i was thinking of rice, though the car sounded awesome. Have fun there, you'll be back to your pony no time.

Do you know what modifications had to be done to make it legal to drive there? I see that there are the fender turn signals installed over the "GT".

Thats about all you need, US standards are stiffer when it comes to safty and emitions. I am wondering if it is a right hand drive.

I was in Palma De mallorca Spain last year and I had seen a 2006 Tungsten gray convertable GT there, that caused me to miss my stang even more, since I was driving a POS rental PT cruiser
