well i let the car idle a little bit, drove it a little bit, really, it seems 100% normal now. no missing, no skipping, runs the same as always, no CEL, car seems fine to me. im hoping whatever they put into the tank was an inert substance, thats what it seems like.

I live in the capitol of gated communities in Williamsburg, VA. (a.k.a. 'Land of the Rich and the Poor') and I can get into any of them with ease.
'I have reservations at the restaurant ...'
'I have a tee time at the golf course in 5 minutes ...'
'I have a meeting at the country club conference center ...'
'I have a pizza for 123 xyz street ...'
etc.
Only once have I ever seen a gate attendant actually call the homeowner (and most of the closed community security officers here are fully trained and state licensed police officers, not rent-a-cops).
And ... if someone was pissed off enough to dump something in your gas tank then they likely already had the motivation to spend a few bucks on a dmv search.

Huh.....Interesting......My 05 doesn't have the little metal flapper under the gas cap........Are you sure it was there to start with?? Also, did you do any quick turns on the way home, to where the gas sloshed from one side of the saddle tank to the other???? Just curious........

Man that sux!!!!! I dont understand what is wrong with people today!!!! Its getting to where you cant have anything nice unless you lock everything down, cover it from top to bottom or lock it away!! It just disgusts me to hear about crap like this!!!!

Even in gated or good communities, you have little punks that are out to be dicks no matter where they live. Flush it out, then lock it.

I guess it pays to be a nice guy huh. Myth Busers busted sugar in the gas tank. Doesn't do a thing.

I think I got my locking Stant gas cap from Rockauto. Pretty cheap as I recall.

Just get a hose cut a 4" segment and blow till you start removing gas. If not then just buy one of the hoses /w pump at your local parts supply usually go for around $25.
