I have this brace..YES the dent is supposed to be there...
Funny I actually called BMR for the same reason when i got mine..
.I hadno clareance issues..At All....Piece if cake to install..

I have the Panhard Brace & Adjustable Panhard Bar on my car, and I didn't have any clearance issues at all. It was a cake walk install too.

Not saying you will for sure but i certainly did and no matter what we tried I could not resolve them. The over axle pipe banged on the bar non stop and when they sent me the newly designed bar with the bend in it it got even worse. Glad none of you have any clearance issues. But if you start hearing banging noises while driving my guess is that will be your problem.
