That dent is how the get the slight bend in the bar without stretching the metal. Stretching would actually decrease the thickenss at the bend thus weakening it or causing a pinch which would also weaken it.

Yes the dent is suppose to be there. That is BMR's attempt at making it so the bar clears the over axle pipe on the driver side. I was actually the one that was working with them to try and redesign the bar so it did not hit. Even after I told them it made it worse it appears they decided to keep it that way. I threw mine in the garbage and purchase the CHE one who is the ONLY company who makes it the correct way without any type of interference. I purchased every brand on the market and CHE was the ONLY one that does not have clearance issues.

I have this brace..YES the dent is supposed to be there...
Funny I actually called BMR for the same reason when i got mine..
