I'm thinking that if I have a leak, I will drill some drain holes in the floor while I wait for them to figure it out, if Ican't stop it from coming in, at least I can make it easy to get back out....
Dude, don't do that! You'll just make it easy for them to deny the warranty work because your altered the car. Even if they do the work, if they can't fix it they'll just blame it on your newly created hole (man, that doesn't sound right).
Yea, dont drill any holes. This would void any type of warranty
and promote rust and allow water to enter thru the holes as well
as letting it drain. Either way, you have a soaked pad and wet carpet.

I ended up putting a water sensor under the
carpet/pad right in front of the passengers seat
so I will know for sure if any unseen leakage is occuring.
What type of water sensor and how much was it?
It was a homemade water sensor.
I used some copper clad board and etched it in a spiral pattern
then hooked it up to a basic resistance bridge circuit. If the sensor
gets wet, the resistance changes, upsets the apple cart, and the
beeper goes off. I only sense when the key is on.
They are available as a kit for the hobbiest beginner in electroics.
Rainbow kits is one brand.
Their kituses a 741 OP AMP instead of a resistance bridge.

What are you using as a power source? The kit says that it comes with a wall transformer.

I am using the switched with the key accessory delay 12 volts of the stang.
It isbasically onwhenever the radio and windows work.
The wall transformer converts 120 Volts AC to 12 Volts DC
so I didnt use a transformer as there is no 120 Volts AC
anywhere in my stang but 12 Volts DC is readily available.
