Full Cat Back vs. Axle Backs
Does anybody know the benefit of adding a full cat back exhaust vs just axlebacks? Any increase in HP that makes it worth while?
The reason i'm asking this is because I heard a full Borlacatback (cost was around $800) on an S197 GT and it sounded absolutely fantastic.Stock headers and mindpipe.Sparked my interest in it but not if the gainsare small. I think id rather go with a catted H and axlebacks. your thoughts? |

It's been said that there is no noticeable gain. Maybe 1 less bend or something. The stock pipes flow very well. I bought the MAC Cat-back system anyway.......[8D]

full exhaust replacement and then i had to go back to the stock cats and now have a axel back and there was sad to say no difference. the stock h pipe and pipes works very well. so it might be around 2 horsepower

I went with the Axel backs since the stock system is that good. Do it and you'll be a lot happier and save a few bucks!

So my 3" exhaust don't add any gains

the stock pipes from the exhaust manifold back is pretty good.... to p/u hp as mentioned above u need some LT headers...and a new tune
