Default FRPP GTA 5230 AXLE BACK

I know these threads have done times before but I needed to start a new one, I have some oberservations and a question?
I picked up my mufflers to day at the local ford dealer, brought them to my tech buddy, the packaging was distcusting, just some bubble wrap, one tip was dented at the bottom, I am sure a couple of hangers were bent, there was a
small dent in the muffler itself.........After 1.5 hours of Fuc..ing around they are installed, adjusted the H pipes still could not get the tips perfect but they are not too bad I guess.......Thats the venting part[sm=teetertooter.gif]
Is it me or are they no louder than stock and maybe only very slightly deeper?? Will they get deeper and louder as I drive it????
THANKS!

From what I have been told that seems to be correct. Just slightly louder than stock. They should get deeper as they break in but not a whole lot.

I have the GTA's and here's the scoop IMO. Without a CAI + tune, the GTA's
are only very slightly louder at idle. At WOT they do sound a little better BUT,
the key to hearing a really nice WOT sound, is to get a cai + tune.

i just returned to the factory intake and airbox this morning in preparation
for my whipple and the sound of the GTA's are softer/quieter now....

The GTA's will get deeper & a bit louder after a few hundred miles, but they will never be so loud as to set off car alarms as you drive by, or rattle windows.
I do have a CAI + tune on mine. After they seasoned, I hear mine @ cruise on the highway now, didn't with the stockers.

Mine are a little off also, about 1/4". I think I can "coax" them into place though. Sorry yours were beat up, mine were shipped from an online vendor, and werein good shape. I don't know about you, but I am happy with the sound, little bit louder, waay deeper. I don't want to rattle windows in the neighborhood.

It seem one of the rear most hangers on mine is making a creaking/popping sound and looks like it might break at the weld soon. I can lay under the back and push up on the muffler and it makes a metallic pop noise every time and i can see the weld giving. The dent in the tip is not a dent, but seems to be a common defect due to the manufacturing process.

Actually, mine makes the same noise too!! The welds don't look very strong!

I'm going to call around and see if anyone will reinforce the welds for me. Sure wish i'd bought that welder a few years ago.

Oh, I could only get the passenger side muffler to make this noise. The noise comes and goes when I driving slow over bumpy roads. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. I thought it was the muffler in the beginning, but then started looking to the suspension.
