Default Highway/Local MPG

Hi Guys,

I just bought my '05 manual GT in December. I live in a small town and have put almost exclusively local miles on my car. I have been getting around 15 MPG consitantly, no matter how I drive.

Recently, I took a 600 mile trip to NY. I averaged almost 25 MPG. To me, the descrepancy seems VERY high. Is this what other people are finding??

I guess my question is... The car seems to be stock, but could there be any modifications to it that are not visible (tunes, gears, etc...) that could have been installed on the car before I bought it? If so, how could I go about checking??

Thanks for your help.

Dino

15 / 25 are so close to the rated fuel economy that imo, i
would have to say there is probably nothing wrong with
your car at all.

frequent shorts trips, have an impact on your oil, spark plugs and mpg

Before Supercharger I was averaging about 23 all around which was excellent, since the SC it's been about 13 simply because I can't stop drinking from the fountain of power baby!!!!

I rarely lookat the mpg(I think maybe 4 times in the last 2 years)but I took a 600 mile roundtrip last summer and wanted to know how it was on gas high way style since the car pretty much hasnt left the local area ever. Averaged about 27 mpg averaged close to 80 mph.

'06 Auto here,(FRPP Power Pack), 93 octane tune: I put 90% of mileage is highway, and my info readout is 20.5 MPG

However, I don't care about that because its not my DD, and if I was worried I would have bought a Honda Civic Si or something....

16-17 mpg here, and that's mostly city driving (like 80 - 90%)
On a trip to san antonio from my place we averaged 25 mpg

Horrid in the city, pretty darn good on the highway!
