I saw these on e-bay and was wondering the validity on them? What do you guys think; could they possibly work?

It looks to me like it is just moving the sensor out of the pipe somewhat. I don't see how it would cut the light off if there is nothing actually changing the signal from the sensor. I didn't see anything that spliced or pluged into the wires.
