Great write up and pics. I'm going to be replacing my springs sometime in the next few months and will definitely be using this post as a reference. I just installed my Hurst shifter last weekend and jacked up the front of the car in the same locations you did and left the jack in place as an added safety measure. It is a little hairy at first crawling under the car but after a couple of minutes it's no sweat, just as long as an earthquake doesn't decide to rumble through SoCal when I'm under there.

Another great write up TacoBill. I don't suppose you made any measurements with the rear spring change? fd

The rear dropped 1".

If just installing the rear springs, it would just about level the car.

Good story with pics. Took some time to do it and take pictures while working on it.
And the car looks great now.

TacoBill,

If only the manufacturers would make instructions like you do. Maybe you should inquire with them about selling these instructions? These instructions willgive a complete novice the ability to change springs on their own. I plan to use these to help me change my front struts out.

thanks a lot

+1 tacobill, you you seem to take the extra time and care with your instructions... in most cases, alot better then other 'official' instructions lol

Appreciate the kind comments, guys.

If I save just one guy from taking his car into the shop by doing the drop (or any other mod I've posted) themselves, it's worth it to me.

Think about it, not only will you save some major $$$ on labor, but no one will take the time and care on your car as you will.

TacoBill,

Thanks again for the great post.

Just have a question about the pinion angle. I'm gonna be putting these springs on over the weekend and was wondering if they throw the pinion angle off by alot? I ordered the adj. upper control arm to correct this but it on backorder from BMR for another week. Would I be safe in lowering the car without correcting the pinion angle using these springs?

Thanks

Yes, as long as you haven't installed a 1 piece driveshaft yet. If so, you'll need the adjustable UCA's.
