free mod to reduce throttle lag...
all -
found a pretty easy/quick way to boost throttle response/reduce lag.
start with your car off and in park.
1) turn the ignition key to on, but don't start the car
2) gently push down on the accelerator pedal until it reaches the floor. this should be done slowly over 5 seconds.
3) gently release the accelerator pedal until your foot is completely off of it. this should be done slowly over 5 seconds.
4) wait 5 seconds, then start the car.
what this will do is "reset" the throttle response on the ECU, this works with the spanish oak processor and some others as well. it effectively negates the "learning" the ECU does, which slows down the throttle response unless you drive like a maniac 24/7. i know it made a big difference for me...let me know if it helps you guys out as well :-)
now don't expect it to help as much as a tune (although you can still do this on tuned vehicles), but it should make a noticeable difference.

Actually it does nothing to the ECU itself but it actually calibrates the TB Servo. Thanks for posting but this has been posted lots of times already.

Still good to know. For the record, searching "throttle lag" spits up more posts than most would want to sift through.

RE: free mod to reduce throttle lag...
Thanks...... but my ECU/SpanishOak, "gets reprogrammed" like 1-3 times a week, U C I somehow got that "dead battery syndrome", (after No problems for 9 mos) The dealer has been very cooperative, but, they are only as good as the info from above.
I'm not trying to hijack the thread, and I know this dead battery issue has been addressed/posted many times. I just can't figure out how the hell it started after 9 mos.
The dealer has installed 2 new batteries, and the 'stang has "rejected" both of them ! They cut the power to the Shaker, and it'll be fine for about 1-2 days longer, but, the battery still craps out.
Problem is, I'm concerned about what happens to OBC/ECU/SpanishOak, when it gets "cleared/wipedout" 1-3 times a week.
